President Donald J. Trump said on Sunday that his administration will not renew the 90-day embargo of global taxes, allowing the taxes to restart after July 9.

President Trump to Reintroduce Global Tariffs After July 9, With TikTok Deal and Iran Strike as Key Wins. Inside The Diaspora

Repeating his wish to change the trade ties of the United States, the President suggested upcoming action on an American-led acquisition of TikTok, a Chinese-owned social media site. President Trump stated without reserve in remarks to journalists that absent new bilateral trade agreements, the tariff suspension will expire as scheduled.

Policy on Tariffs: “The Pause Ends July 9” He said, “The pause ends July 9. We’re open to new deals—but tariffs revert at 50% or higher if they do not appear. ” He viewed the suspension as an opportunity for other nations to renegotiate what he felt to be long-standing trade inequities with the United States. Though he admitted the deadline might be ambitious, the President repeated his goal to achieve “90 trade deals in 90 days.

Beijing’s authorization of TikTok Deal is still outstanding. President Trump said that a U. S. -based entity is prepared to buy TikTok, a platform under thorough inquiry by American legislators over national security issues. He said, “We have a buyer—a good group, American-owned. We are waiting on China. “But administration and corporate insiders claim that Chinese officials canceled the agreement in response to the President’s changed tariff policy. Though the White House has not provided further specifics, it says national security still comes first in the arrangement.

President Trump replied to questions about a recent U. S. attack on Iranian nuclear installations by saying the action had successfully destroyed Iran’s near future capacity to manufacture a nuclear bomb. He stated, “They were weeks away. We stopped it cold.” This assertion goes against a classified intelligence report leaders of Congress received noting some but not total harm. International observers have demanded an impartial inquiry into the incident including the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA).

Immigration reforms: President Trump seemed to be changing existing laws by recommending a route for temporary employees expressing willingness to provide temporary work permits for undocumented immigrants in areas with severe labor shortages, such as agriculture and hospitality. The President said, “We need to protect the border, but we also need to protect our farmers and our economy.” Though government officials claim it represents a “pragmatic compromise,” the plan is bound to come under scrutiny from immigration conservatives as well as labor activists.

Important Repercussions:

Trade: Especially with China and the European Union, the conclusion of the tariff moratorium could greatly affect global supply networks and economic ties.

Technology and National Security: The outcome of the TikTok takeover might set a standard for any future limitations on foreign-owned digital channels running in the United States.

Foreign policy: The assault on Iran hints at a continuous hostile deterrent that might exacerbate regional tensions.

Domestic policy: Before the 2026 midterm elections, the proposed temporary work permits provide a sophisticated approach to immigration.

Looking Ahead: July 9 approaches, and all eyes are on the government’s capacity to finalize trade agreements, assure the TikTok purchase, and manage diplomatic repercussions from its international policy activity. Congress, meanwhile, is scheduled to hold hearings on the assault against Iran and might include their perspective on the immigration measures.
